A new year seems to always indicate changes.
If you know me personally at all, you know that are family moved from California to Western Washington, where my husband and I have chosen to move our children to what we hope is a better life. I hope to go into that in future blog posts, as I’ve started writing again for the purpose of getting it out there for my children to follow my train of thought when they were too young to understand “why” something was happening to him or her.
That’s all my husband and I can plan for anyway. They are still little people, and we have the enormous responsibility to help them live and grow to be God-fearing, loving, kind and productive people.
I have written my goals down in the past, and as I have said before and will repeat here: Goals for me are a means of “getting there.” I believe that if one doesn’t make goals, one has nothing to shoot for and will hit that mark EVERY TIME.
My 2019 Goals:Spiritual – Embrace and study the book of Esther. Start with reading the story and finding a study guide.
Family – (1) Read at least one (1) book with each child this year. (2) Plan one (1) family vacation with the children’s input. (3) Complete the Minecraft blanket that is sitting in the garage.
Physical – (1) Run at least one half-marathon in Washington. (2) Get up to and try my hardest to maintain a 2-minute plank. (3) Plan meals more often and with the family.
Intellectual – Read at least one (1) self-improvement or self-enrichment book and at least four (4) personal choice books.
Social – Make new friends by inviting people over or meeting them for coffee. I also want to have my children have safe “play dates.”
Career – Pass probation. I am also going to strive to finish the three projects I have been assigned to complete before the end of the year.
Financial – Get back to the budget and get on with paying off the house.
Welcome 2019. I embrace you with a zeal that only the Lord can give me.
I hope I can write more. I forgot how much I enjoy it!
